Elastics

Want to know how we can correct your bite problems and move your teeth to their desired position?

What role do Elastics play in Orthodontic treatment?

Elastics are a type of rubber band which is attached to your braces to create the proper forces needed to correct bite problems and move the teeth. In some cases, tightening or loosening the wires alone cannot correct the problem. In these circumstances, Elastics are used to treat the problem.

Why Elastics?

Elastics are very effective as a part of your orthodontic treatment when worn as directed. Usually, they are worn full time, except for when you brush your teeth. They should be changed daily or if they break. If you miss wearing your elastics, the treatment period will be a longer.

You will be provided with spare elastics, which you need to use when the one attached to your braces breaks or gets lost. When you lose your elastics or run out, don’t hesitate to call us. We will be able to provide you with more.

To find out if you will need to wear elastics in your treatment, feel free to contact us for a consultation to find out more.
