Treatment Time

The treatment time depends on the severity of your case. Every orthodontic case is unique with some treatments completed within 6 months. Other, more severe cases are only deemed complete after years of treatment. The end result is always the perfect smile.

Sterilisation

At Tony Weir Orthodontics, we follow the Australian Dental Association guidelines for infection control. This gives our patients that assurance that they will receive the highest quality, safest orthodontic care. Mouth Guards

For people who play sports that can potentially injure the teeth, such as football, we recommend that you obtain a special mouth guard. We can provide you with a proper mouth guard, which will protect your teeth as well as the braces attached to your teeth. Here at Tony Weir Orthodontics, we provide all the necessary accessories that will enable our patients to live their lives normally and without too much adjustment.

Root Shortening

We have some patients who experiences shortening of the root during orthodontic treatment. It is near impossible to predict the susceptibility of the patient for experiencing root shortening. Although this kind of condition will not have any significant consequences, you have to remember that there are rare cases where it may become a threat to the teeth involved.

Jaw Joints

Some of our patients suffer from jaw joints problems, which include TMJ or TMD. These problems can occur with or without orthodontic treatment. If you experience jaw joints problem, headache, earache, or clicking of the jaw, please inform us about it. We will provide you with the necessary solution for solving this kind of problem.

General Health

If you are experiencing any changes in your health or you have a pre-existing medical condition, please inform us. By knowing your medical history, we will be able to adjust your treatment plan according to your needs and your safety.
