Removable Appliances

Removable Appliances

After finishing your main orthodontic treatment of Braces your treatment may not be over. In some instances, we will provide you with Removable Appliances to maintain your original treatment.

These dental appliances are worn to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original position. In some cases, they are also used to carry out minor tooth movements or can even alter the growth of teeth to correct a bad bite.

These removable appliances are very effective when worn dental appliances but it is important to wear it as instructed. There are several types of removable appliances available and we will use the most appropriate solution for your case.

Bonded Retainer
This is the most common type of retainer for the lower front teeth. Bonded retainers are glued to the back of the lower six front teeth and can be left permanently in place in order to ensure that the teeth will not shift position.

Clear Retainers
This is one of the most common retainers for the upper front teeth as they are clear and virtually invisible. Usually worn during sleep, clear retainers ensure that the treated teeth will not shift position.

Plate Retainers
Used in either the upper or lower arches, Plate Retainers ensure that the teeth will not move and provide piece of mind after you orthodontic treatment.

Banded Retainers
For more specific issues, Banded Retainers may be needed to be used. These are glued to the back of the teeth and can be left permanently to ensure that the treated teeth do not move.

We have many dental appliances used for preventing the teeth to shift position or to provide minor teeth adjustments after orthodontic treatments.
